Meet the Artist

Hi, I’m Jemma, the artist behind Cascading Colors Face Art — and my journey into face painting started with my first love: Halloween.
I’m a huge Halloween fan. Every year, I build a full haunted walkway and create all of my decorations from scratch. I’ve spent years designing spooky scenes, painting murals, and transforming my yard into an immersive experience for the neighborhood.
On Halloween night, I would paint the kids in the neighborhood — often with special effects looks — just for fun.
Art has always been my creative outlet, whether I’m doing wall murals, fence art, prop-building, or makeup effects. It’s how I unwind, express myself, and keep my imagination alive.
My transition into face painting as a business happened almost by accident.
One day, I agreed to paint faces at a local school festival. I thought it would be a fun way to volunteer and be involved in the community — but I had no idea what it would turn into.
After the event, parents kept coming up to me asking for my information. That turned into birthday parties on weekends, while I was still working my medical job during the week. Word of mouth spread quickly, and soon I was booking events every weekend.
What started as a casual “Sure, I’ll give face painting a go,” slowly grew into something I never expected — a full-time business built on community, creativity, and connection.
Face painting was once a side project, but it has become my passion and my career.
I feel incredibly lucky to spend my days bringing color, magic, and excitement to kids, families, and events all over our community.
I love what I do, and I am so grateful this adventure found me.
